Swampscott Tour
A seaside community that was first settled in 1629, Swampscott began as a fishing village and was also known for a large number of shoe makers. In the 1800's Swampscott began to attract many wealthy visitors from across the country to their large resorts and summer homes. Today the resorts are gone, but the unique mix of architectural homes remain in this wonderful seaside town on the North Shore.

Schools: Promoting academic excellence for all students by supporting teaching and learning is a major goal for the Swampscott public schools. Swampscott opened a new state of the art high school in 2007 and they continue to follow plans to update, renovate, and improve their schools.

There are three neighborhood elementary schools (Stanley, Hadley, and Clarke) in Swampscott, one middle school, one high school and one college which is Marian Court. Swampscott is a member of the Vocational Regional High School and there are also many pre-k choices for schools in town.

Shopping: Swampscott offers the conveniences of shops, boutiques, restaurants, and grocery stores in town.
